Daddy Away again..

July 31, 2006 · 2 Comments

Oopss it’s past midnight and I’m still on the computer, it’s ok, daddy is not here and will be away till Thursday,,,meaning I have to put the kids to bed?? Nah,,,maid can take over. Really I’m a bad mom. Came back late yesterday and went straight to the computer and caught up with my daily blog updating and surfing other blogs! Dinner time also don’t know how to go up and eat with my kids. Ok I admit la….I’m a horrible mummy.

The maid made only yong taufoo (which is really bland for the kids cos they can’t eat it with the yummy chilly sause) and fried cabbage with prawns for dinner. Simple menu since daddy not around. And my dumbo son has to request the maid to blend his dinner only because maid has been doing this to mei mei’s food, so he kiasu la, wants also. Now, can you imagine blended taufoo with cabbage..ayooo…I can imagine how yucky is that! I dare not even post the photo of the yucky paste, if not whoever sees it sure vomit la!

That poor boy was so miserable, but I had to force him to eat the yucky paste just to make him realise what he did was so dumb. I had to hide his Narnia toys (his current obsession, I should post a photo of how he plays with his Narnia toys, he arranges the army just like in the movie and gets really upset if Mei Mei attempts to trample over them!) in order to force him to swallow a few more spoonfuls of the yucky paste! I know that was so cruel of me but who asked him to be so smart?? Hopefully he learns the lesson and never request his dinner to be blended!

Mei Mei however, happily gobbled down her blended food, really she eats up anything that we put in her mouth! She was even asking for more, by climbing up kor kor’s chair to reach for his yucky paste! Oh it was hilarious! I keep telling myself I must record all these dramas on video but I’m just too lazeee…hopefully this blog will be a good enough caption for memory sake.

My Neverending Shopping Spree..

July 31, 2006 · 4 Comments

I tell you ah, I really don’t have willpower when it comes to shopping. After my Bangkok trip last month, I said I must not shop anymore as I really bought a lot of stuff during that trip. I told my colleague, I don’t think I can buy anything here in KL after Bangkok, as the shopping is much more worth it in Bangkok, and I added that I will only do all my future shopping from Bangkok only, meaning, a yearly trip to Bangkok is a must! Gosh, I’m so eating up my words now as I’ve been shopping non-stop since last week! I went to Zara like 3 times in a row, and at all 3 times, I bought something, all over RM200+!! Gosh! I am so doom-ded! (Actually I’ve already bought quite a bit on the first day they started their sale, meaning I’ve been there like 4x!!)

The trip there last week was like kind of accidental, as I was with a customer/friend who accompanied me to my son’s future primary school. Well she’s the one who helped me pull strings into that school la, so I wanted to buy her lunch in appreciation to her! So we ended up in One Utama, as the parking was hassle free and there were a wide variety of food to choose from. Well, since we were there, she wanted to shop around for a while and the rest is history la!

But then I still felt dissatisfied due to limited time there, so I went again on Sunday. Kids were a riot but still managed 40 minutes in Zara alone!

Today was really another accident case, as I took my hubby’s uncle and aunty out for lunch as I needed their address accompanied with phone bill for the admission into the primary school. (Yes their address is very close to that school). So, guess where they suggested for lunch? Yes, bingo…One Utama! And to my surprise, aunty although much much my senior, is very hip! She really enjoyed shopping in Zara and even bought a couple of tops. We actually spent 3 hours shopping this afternoon! Gosh! So doom-ded o-gain.

But aunty was quite upset at the end as one of the tops she chose was not a sale item. She felt cheated as the top was amongst the mountain of sale items (you know those pile of clothes piled on top of another on a table/wide bin). On top of that, the item was kinda worn out and we really felt it was not worth paying at full price. Unfortunately, aunty fell in love with the top and couldn’t part with it and the item was the last piece they had.

The Zara manager blamed it on customers throwing the item around but isn’t it their responsiblity to sort the clothes out?? The price tag on the top was not properly tagged so of course aunty presumed it was a sale item, in fact I would too! Terrible, boo to Zara for this incident! I have always been a fan of their clothes eventhough the clothes are a little pricey and even after sale, they are not much cheaper too! So, we naturally expected better service than that! Don’t you think so??

Was running late as I still had a delivery to do. When I reached the customer’s place, I found items missing, meaning my staff didn’t properly checked the items when they loaded into my car. On top of that, they didn’t even hook up the steam iron and I had to complete the job with my not so expert hands, plus borrowed tool from customer and ended up cutting my finger! GRRRRRRRR,,,,they are so getting a spanking tomorrow!!

1st pix - Left blouse from Zara and right halter from P & Co! (I could never fit into anything form P & Co but this blouse is like so fitting man! WOH!!

2nd pix - I bought the same blouse in Zara Bangkok last month but full price. So after seeing the same item half the price here, I damn thoo-lan oredi so die-die also must buy one more just to balance back. What theory is this..I also don’t know..

3rd pix - Both tops from Zara

1st pix - Left blouse from MNG and green cardi from Zara

2nd pix - Top from Zara and shorts from MNG (it was the last item and one aunty was holding on to it, aiya she can’t fit into it la but she kept holding on to it so I had to hang around her to wait for her to put it back on the rack!)

3rd pix - More clothes for my princess, I know…too much leow but couldn’t resist la….

My Baby has grown up so fast….

July 28, 2006 · 6 Comments

As I walked up to my son’s bed yesterday, he was already fast asleep, thanks to Daddy o-gain. Gave him a peck on the cheek and suddenly I was overcome with emotion. All the running around and worrying which school would accept him, I realised that he’s all grown up and is about to enter Standard One next year, which is just 6 months away. I told daddy, “Just imagine him in the school uniform and the giant bag…”, ooooohhh I suddenly began to tear and kept saying, “My baby, my baby….I miss my baby…” And daddy had to spoil the moment and said this, “Want to have another one??” Gosh, men just need to learn to just shut up and say nothing at situations like these! Why don’t they learn? Or rather why doesn’t he learn???

Oh by the way, remember I was worrying (actually still worried) which school is going to accept my son, I now have a situation where there are 2 very good schools where we have assured places, both not from my original first option but nevertheless very renowned schools. The slight problem is that both schools are not strategically located near us; one in PJ and one in KL but still at manageable distances. Actually both are located in quite heavy traffic areas but we have decided on the PJ one…Thank God for answered prayers!

Why You Need a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

July 27, 2006 · 2 Comments

Remember I mentioned that I was making a copy of my favourite KDrama Series, “My Name Is Kim Sam Soon”, well I was burning the last disc today and suddenly there was a power surge and my computer just died during the burning process. Since it was a big disc, almost 8 gb, it usually takes like almost two hours to burn. Gosh! The disc cost me RM15 per piece ok! Now I got to buy a new one!! Arrgghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Well the RM15 is not really a big deal but it’s the time lor! Really irritating!!!!

Smuggling Laundry Chemical

July 27, 2006 · 3 Comments

It’s always difficult to transport our laundry chemicals via air. It’s not like it’s some highly inflamable chemical but somehow they do not pass the air travel standards. So, sometimes it makes it difficult when we want to do demo in places where we need to travel via air as we need only small quantities of the various chemicals.

So that day my colleague was suggesting maybe we store it in our mineral water bottles and if the custom officers were to ask what the liquid is then he would say it’s herbal tea. Then the other colleague said, “Aiya, what if the officer ask you to drink it in front of him??” Then I said, “Hmm..tell the officer that it’s not the right time to drink the tea now. But if the officer insists, no choice la. Drink then immediately vomit in front of him and say, see told you not right time, now vomit already!” Great idea or not?? I don’t think so….

Ayo..Putrajaya is soooo big one ah..

July 25, 2006 · 2 Comments

Wah,,nearly got lost in Putrajaya today. Had to go visit a new customer there. The roads are extremely wide and eeriely quiet. Really had a good sight of the whole place as my customer’s laundry is located right at the end of Putrajaya almost next to Dengkil! Can’t believe that a laundry that is located so far away and it’s doing quite well considering that it’s still quite new.

My princess-My cheeky girl

July 24, 2006 · 2 Comments

As I was busy blogging and enjoying my Hyun Bin online last night, I missed out kissing my kids before they went to bed, I couldn’t help picking up my little princess from her cot and giving her a kiss. But oooppss…the moment I picked her up, she woke up. The moment I put her back in the cot, she cried! Picked her up again and gave her some water but she refused to get back to bed. Wanted to play instead! Can hear daddy grumbling already as he gets really worked up at a situation like this. Actually, anyone who gets disturbed from a deep sleep would react lor..sorry daddy,,,Yes it was 2am already and lil’princess was climbing up and down our bed gurgling and giggling too! Daddy couldn’t take it as lil’princess kept pressing his body! He got up and kept scolding me, “It’s all your fault mommy! You woke her up..why did u wake her????” hahahaha…really it was quite funny and at the same time not so lor since it’s like hello!! sleeping time! I was quite tired too, so I actually fell asleep despite her crying. Daddy was so fed up he nearly wanted to throw her outside but I said if he threw her out, he has to go out too! No lar,,daddy just acting up only! He tried to oi oi her back to sleep but she still couldn’t fall asleep even with her fave comfort pillow, Samshika! I think she only fell back asleep after 4 am!!!!!!! Sorry again…but lil’princess is really a more difficult child compared to her ko ko. I kept reminding daddy, stop grumbling, she will grow up so fast, you’ll miss having her in between us! ohhhhhhhh so sad…I’m already feeling it with the boy as he’s growing up so fast and he doesn’t like to be kissed anymore….sob sob sob…………….

School Placement

July 24, 2006 · 3 Comments

The letter of acceptance for Standard One arrived last Friday while I was out at a demo with a potential customer. My staff actually accidentally opened the letter and sent me a sms to apologise. I asked her to tell me if my son has been accepted in my school of choice and told her that she should not keep me in suspense la! I was so shocked that he was not placed in any of the 3 schools of my choice, instead was placed in some school so far away and of which I have not heard of. Well, I knew it’s really hard to get into the school of your choice nowadays due to the overwhelming popularity of certain Chinese Schools but I didn’t expect that I was not placed even in my 3rd choice!

Boy, was I distressed at that point. Good thing I was not attending to the potential customer alone, as I totally cannot concentrate at that point of time. My mind was racing with just one question playing again and again like a broken record; i.e. how ah, how ah, how ah…Then I remembered that one of my cousins whose son is studying in Kuen Cheng now. I called her to find out how she placed him there. She told me to call her older sister who knows someone who can help with the application. I of course immediately called her and asked her for help. She said she will try to call, but after checking with her daughter, she says I must call her everyday to check if she’s done it or not as she’s a very busy business woman, or rather “Si Tau Poh” running a very famous “Nyonya Kuih” factory!

This morning my friend whose daughter was accepted in that popular school (which was my first choice) was registering her daughter and found out that the school was offering 7 Standard One classes of 50 students each next year. However, the accepted numbers were not up to 350 students yet. Therefore, she advised me to go over to the office and try to see if an appeal is possible. I went equipped with my telephone bills and a road map to explain the closeness of my address to that school.

I had to take a number upon reaching that school and had to wait for about 6 numbers till it’s my turn. Turned out that I can’t do anything there. I was advised to go to the school where my son was placed to fill in the appeal letter. I rushed over immediately. I roughly knew where that school was after checking the road map. But I didn’t expect it to look so miserably small and run down. I nevertheless went up to fill in the appeal letter and was told that I may only get the reply to my appeal sometime from October to December. Gosh! How can I wait that long? And if I do not get the appeal approved, how will I have enough time to find another school? This is totally unfair. I guess that’s why so many children have to end up in private schools.

Then later today I talked to a customer about this and she said she knows the teachers in another famous Chinese School somewhere in Petaling Jaya. So she will help me call them tomorrow. Lets see what happens…but I am soooooooooooo worried….like all mothers would be wouldn’t they??????

History : Continued…

My First Born 1st Year

I must say I was not very impressed with his looks after he was born. He began to develop milk rash and he had eczema. The only thing I was amazed was the amount of hair he had. But slowly, the rash and eczema got better and his skin turned fairer. His looks took a turn too and he actually is quite a good looking fella! (Proud mommy bragging!)

Kieran was a very active baby, he started crawling when he was 6 months old, climbing and stand with support when he was 7 months and walking at 10 months! I stopped breastfeeding him when he was 6 months. Gave me a bite and I actually slapped him for that! I really didn’t mean to do that but it was like a reflex action. He was stunned and refused to re-latch and that was the end of breastfeeding!

His first trip which requires an international passport was to Singapore. It was really funny cos daddy had to hold him to have his photo taken at the immigration.

(Photo coming soon)

For his 1st birthday we had a big party do at my mom’s place, with the caterers and tents. However, the poor boy was not feeling well, was still having fever during the earlier part of the day.

(Photo coming soon)

History : My First Born 2nd Year

We enrolled him at Noah’s Ark, a playschool at Bangsar as we were getting worried due to his lack of speech. We couldn’t toilet train him either so I was hoping he would be toilet trained there! The first week was tough as he wailed and screamed when I left him there. After about 15 days he was fully settled and in just 2 weeks he was toilet trained! Not long after that he was chatty, in fact talked too much!

Trip to Australia

He was a riot on the plane and managed to catch a nap of just one hour on the 8-hr flight. We took turns to entertain him which was not easy at all. We exhausted every toy we brought including the ones the airline gave us as he got bored with them so fast! He was running up and down the aisles and the stewards/stewardess had to warn us again and again about him.

He was really considered quite a good kid besides the running up and down the aisle part, as he didn’t cry at least during the flight. He sits in his stroller when we bring him out and occasionally we will let him loose. The part when he chased the sea gulls was really cute.

Pix coming up…

The flight from Melbourne to Sydney however was a nightmare. He cried non-stop the whole journey, thank God it was only an hour plus flight!

My uncle who was still alive then (God bless his soul, RIP) made a comment to my mom and said to come visit is ok to him but try not to bring the kid! Gosh! I thought he was a pretty good kid, didn’t even make a mess at the apartment. The only time he cried really badly was the day I went off to the city on my own and left him with mom. But mom had to go out for a short while to buy something. She left him with uncle and auntie. He just stood by the balcony door looking down as he could see the road from there. He didn’t budge the whole time and didn’t cry at all. The moment mom walked in the door, he wailed and stuck on to mom like a koala and cried and cried,,,,,poor little boy. He thought he was abandoned!

History : My First Born 3rd Year

First Concert

I was informed of the concert quite late and I thought it was nothing as I was not informed that he will be participating. In fact I was doubtful that he would be involved since he’s the youngest in his class. We arrived late but the teacher quickly pulled him in and he was standing in front of the group. Then they began the first song. I could actually see him singing according to the timing and with hand actions too! I was so proud that I had tears welled up in my eyes! My little Kieran could actually stand still for 3 songs and singing them accordingly too!
