Since we bought this pool, we have been filling it up for the kids to play every weekend. They simply love the time in the pool till I have to drag them out!

Kieran couldn’t wait to even change into his swimming gear! He stripped down to his underwear!

The water level was not even full yet but they just couldn’t wait and jumped in! It takes quite a while to fill the pool up eventhough my water is pump pressured! Good thing I can recycle the water to water my beloved plants!

Current Update

Kylie has caught the HFM (hand, foot & mouth) virus. Apparently there’s an outbreak now. There has been quite a number of cases reported so far. Today is the first day that her symptoms showed. I noticed the spots on her bum and feet this morning when I showered her. It’s a good thing I shower her every morning, otherwise the maid will not notice such things. Unfortunately it’s a virul attack, there is no medication to counter this disease, just medication for the sores in her mouth and fever medicine. There is no sign of fever as yet and she’s still as cheerful and active as ever! Keeping fingers crossed but will still give her the fever medicine tonight to help her sleep better should the spots and ulcers get worse.

I am really worried that Kieran will catch the virus too as we will be leaving for Hong Kong in 2 weeks time! Oh pulllleeeezzz let him get well by then if he does catch it! According to the doctor, the child should get well in 5 days. So really feeling panicky now!

Went to this Vegetarian restaurant at Kota Damansara to celebrate my customer cum friend’s birthday. Sorry forgot the restaurant name…but the food was really good. We went there just past lunch hour time so the restaurant was like soooooo quiet. Then came this heavenly dish, dip fried mushroom in butter sauce. It was really really very yummy lor…

Since the above was so yummy, I decided I wanted to cook up my own version and try it out. Then I realised I didn’t have fresh milk in my office. So? Make do with evaporated milk la….so here’s my version….

So how’s the taste? Not as happening la and I blame it on the milk. So “em kam yuen”, I tried again today for lunch and the result was……amazing! It’s sooooooo yummmmieeeee…ok self praise is no praise…please ask Angie la!

Anyway here’s the “ai ya ya a la la” (my made up) recipe if you wanna try!

1 box/prepacked Organic Shitake/white mushrooms (from supermarket)

Tempura flour

4 stalks Curry leaves

1 full tbsp Butter

1 tsp salt (less if you don’t like it too saltish)

1/2 tsp sugar (more if u like it sweet)

some onion shallots

5 tbsp fresh milk

some corn flour solution in milk

pepper

Method

Mix tempura flour in water to make batter (instructions should be on the box!)

Then dip mushrooms in the batter and dip fry

Leave on plate

Butter sauce

Put 1 tbsp oil in the wok to heat up then put in the curry leaves & shallots (and some cili padi if you want) to fry till fragrant and crispy

Add butter, salt & sugar and then milk

Then finally before taking up the sause pour in the corn flour solution to thicken the sause a bit..

Finally pour sause over the dip fried mushrooms and serve immediately!

I try to bring my kids each time I visit my dad’s grave, just to make sure they remember they have a kung-kung whom I know will spoil them rotten and love them to pieces.  I really feel so sad that my dad did not get a chance to see any of his grandchildren. I remember the time I was pregnant with my 1st pregnancy and he was still alive. He was so excited and told my mom that he will get well and they will together gether help to take care of their 1st grandchild. Unfortunately my 1st pregnancy ended up in a miscarriage into my 2nd week and he was devastated. He was very angry and scolded everyone except me.

Look at them oblivious to their surrounding and monkeying around.

I don’t know why but each time I’m there I will also take a walk around and look at the deceased gravestones and look at their age they died and start to wonder why….keh poh!

 Apoh is going on a trip to Nepal, not really for holiday but it’s a missions trip, meaning going with a group of Christians, sending help and support to the Christians over there. I am kinda worried for her lor cos she’s usually quite pampered in all her holiday trips, don’t know how to tell her that missions trip is not exactly a holiday…..derrrr…

She’s always worried I am not feeding the kids well so I have been going back to her place for dinner the whole of this week. She always call up and said she is cooking something for the kids so how to refuse her? But today I thought I give her a break since she will be leaving tomorrow morning. Here’s a photo of her with my son during one of those nites we were there. As usual the tv is watching her not her watching the tv…

Today memang ada shocking news for all. In fact there are 2 separate stories but not related.

No.1 Story : Freaking $”£!&£& Maid

My mom as usual volunteered to come to my office to pick up Kylie and the maid as I was out and could be back late. But as usual when my mom says she’s coming she comes and doesn’t like to wait and leaves you not much time to pack up or finish whatever. The moment she arrived, the maid was obviously not ready but she still managed to bring down the garbage to throw. She left the garbage aside and gestured to my mom to wait while she opened up the store downstairs. My mom saw that she was not carrying anything but when she came out she was carrying another plastic bag. Then she picked up the garbage and took off like lightning. My mom suspected something amiss, she decided to get down from the car and gave chase! Knowing my mom’s age, of course she is much slower than that blardy maid la! Anyway, by the time my mom caught up she saw the maid flinging the garbage in the giant bin and at the same time she saw a middle aged indonesian guy holding on the same plastic bag my maid was carrying earlier! So my mom asked the maid why is that bag with him and insisted she take it back. Guess what it was? It was a container filled with rice plus a generous amount of green vegetables & chicken!

I was out training at my customer’s place when I received an sms from Angie saying I have news of my maid from my mom. I was thinking as usual la, must be lazy etc…But the moment I came back and got to know the above story, I was so angry I actually punished her and as she was so guilty she actually accepted her punishment quietly. It’s not that I am angry that she was donating my food to other people but the fact that she can’t freaking complete her own chores but she has time to do such a thing. It’s mind boggling how the hell did she get the guts and nerves to do this in the first place! I also cannot be sure if she has stole any money and given to this so called relative. She said this relative was leaving for Indonesia so she just gave her food for the last time before he leaves. Can you believe this crap of a story? She said that the food was supposed to be her food but she didn’t eat it and kept it for him! WTF! She even said that she kept and then microwaved it!

Not long after that, I was wondering what she was doing and then caught her in the bathroom observing my brother’s maid bathing my nephew. I was like, duhhh….wtf are you there? I went in and then asked her what are you looking at? Tengok wayang ah? (watching movie is it?) Again that got me dem boiling hot and I punished her again. She was not only freaking lazy but so dem ham sup till my nephew’s kkc (penis) oso em fong kor ah (cannot escape her)?

When I got back to the office the next day which was yesterday, I found the the light and exhaust fan turned on, meaning she left it on since the day before and the back door wide open. Not only that, she left all the utensils all unwashed and the kitchen at a mess and also the lunch plates all unwashed! So she has time to pack lunch for her “relative” but no time to complete her basic tasks! I tell you, have you come across such a specimen?? I was hoping she runs away but she’s so damn thick skin, still sticking around! Blardy hell! I actually have to confine her now with no access to outside unless I’m around. You say, employ maid TKL (stressful) or not?

No.2 Shocking Story : Cheating Music Teacher

Today came across this story from my customer (MdmD). She has been sending her daughter to for piano lessons with this lady for 6 years and the daughter has not taken any exams at all while with her. So Mdm D insisted that her daughter go for exams this year. So the teacher cheater collected the exam fees for the Trinity Colleage exam for both practical and theory in May 07 and also November 07. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, it’s like her daughter only taken Grade 1 exam and has not taken any exams ever but how can the teacher cheater prepare her for exams twice a year all of a sudden? And why did she collect the fee for November so early? That’s not all….May is coming to an end but her daughter has yet to sit for the so-called exam! The teacher cheater actually gave excuse that there’s some problem and the exam has been postponed! WTF? Trinity College is a British college exam la, cannot simply postpone one.

But that is not all! The teacher cheater also changed the amount on the cheque for Mdm D’s daughter’s April’s fees from RM130 to RM730 and the cheque actually cleared! What that’s like a crime leh! I just couldn’t believe how Mdm D can be so gullible and naive to fall into this trap and to think that she has been sending the daughter to this teacher for 6 freaking years! Then I remembered my friend who is a music teacher, so I called her to check the facts. She said Trinity has exams scheduled for May-June and November and there is no such thing as change of dates! Then when Mdm D stated the facts to the teacher cheater she was stuttering and “e e eh eh” trying to beat around the bush. She couldn’t answer to Mdm D’s questions. And then we got hold of the Trinity College number and gave them a call to check whether Mdm D’s daughter was registered at all but of course she was NOT! She even found out that the exam fees was only RM120 and the teacher cheater actually took RM230 from her!

I really couldn’t believe that at all! Whenever I try to sell something to this Mdm D she always takes so long to decide and said expensive la bla bla bla…eventhough it’s for a fact that I was trying to sell her something that helps ease her burden in the laundry. And when I try to collect money she will always try to postpone to the next month, she will pay la but just like to drag a bit la. But how come she falls into such a trap? In fact this is not the first time she has been cheated!

So this story serves as a reminder to us all, to check facts and get 2nd or 3rd opinions before committing anything, especially when it comes to money of course!

As a lot of you may already know, I had a joint celebration birthday party for Kylie together with these handsome guys & this pretty girl. We had a real swell time together-gether and you can read more about this here, here, here, here & here.

I woke up like just before 7 in the morning to start baking as my dear friend who was supposed to help me bake the cake had a wedding to attend so can’t help me…so I took up the challenge to do it myself. Not that I can’t afford to buy la but I just wanted to have something homebaked. Sorry to bake myself is definitely more costly than buying off the shelf cos all the ingredients I got totalled up to a bomb ok! So here’s my so called birthday cake, I am not too impressed with it of course but nevermind la!

After the kids’ birthday party Amah went to another birthday party celebrating this sweet girl’s birthday. Thanks to this happening girl for organising this event. The bistro we went was like derrrr….sorry ah, but I also forgot the name leow. It’s located next to Kelana Seafood Restaurant. This place was infested with life blood sucking mozzies and I was the unfortunate victim as I was wearing a skirt! Damn! Even the insect ultraviolet light thingy didn’t work which got me scratching non stop the whole blardy night! Then I ordered this kiddy meal in a form of a sheppard’s pie which took them more than an hour to serve! When I saw it, I was like, is that all? Not that I was expecting much but they took so dem blardy long to prepare! Cis! So that night was not really my night until the draw for the ‘Guess the football match score contest! (Manchester U vs Chelsea) Thanks to Ace I just simply filled in the form la. I told him I usually don’t have luck for contests but he told me to just fill the form, I mai fill lor… We didn’t even pay attention to the match only looked up when the guys were shouting!

I didn’t realise the match was over until the guys said so and our prediction was right! There were 5 other people who had the right prediction so they had to draw la. One guy went back so tough! Then they called out the names from 4th placing to the winnner. It was so kan chiong (exciting) lor. Then finally when they announced the 2nd place’s name we just jumped into the air and screamed like we won a million bucks! What was the price? 24 month update on Kylie

Time flies…my baby is turning two in two days time! She’s really a handful and I will tell you why now...

I have planted quite a number of chilly plants as I lurrvvve chillies! And at times chillies are quite expensive, so since I have a relatively big garden, plant la! Here’s my first crop! I was too anxious and actually plucked them when they are not ripe! blurrrr…I left quite a lot and they actually grew bigger! So exciting lor!

Here’s one row of chilly plants. There are somemore on the other side but still quite small. Most of the plants here already bore fruit and Kieran keeps reminding me each day there are a lot of chillies!

I dare not plant any other vegetables for fear of work. Planting chilly is fairly easy, just got to water only! hahahhaha

Furnitures

We bought more furnitures lately (I really should stop buying as space has definitely run out! So I really need to call my neighbour to try to threaten talk her into selling me her house since she doesn’t live there! That’s the sofa which was on special last month. I actually went to buy it myself and I was pushing this sofa plus another trolley full of stuff together alone! Everyone was staring at me, must have thought this woman so pathetic one, no one to help still can buy so many things!

This dining table was bought by Apah only cos I forced asked him to. Notice there are no chairs? He said to buy later wor…no more stock only he know!

This is the divider that Apah was going to assemble but I don’t know why I didn’t take the completed picture! Hahaha…

Yes all the furniture is from my favourite store, I am sold to it! I’m sure you can guess which one la!

At the moment Kylie still sleeps in the same room as us. So we put her mattress next to ours. We actually sleep on a platform instead of a bed, this way the kids can bunk with us anytime and no risk of falling of and there’s enough space for all.  Her mattress is right next to mine and also the wall.  She actually moves like the hands of the clock in her sleep so that explains why i don’t allow any space around her mattress. This way I can also snuggle into her mattress sometimes to be close to her and smell her hair…heeheeheeheehee.

But our little princess can still wriggle out of a king size comforter (purposely use a big size one cos she wriggles so much) and end up sleeping on the platform outside of her mattress! I give up! Oh I also bought that thingy (don’t know what it’s called la) where I can zip her in so that she can keep warm and restrict her movement but she screams and screams…so cannot use that thingy anymore!

Each year when it comes to filing for tax, Amah memang lazy and last minute one, cos have my own tax, my company tax, my other company tax & my mom’s tax to file! Ok, lazy so pass mine to Apah to do it, the company’s and Apoh’s one send to Tax Consultant la…but then still have to compile all the documents and pass to the consultant also ma…that’s the part that I dread ler…so this year, I didn’t receive my Borang B or whatever form so got to collect a copy so end up late la! (ok ok it’s a bad excuse…) I was stuck in the queue to the Kelana Jaya Tax Department, well there were also a lot of other last minute people like me lor.. And these people drove like he/she is the only one who needs to submit the tax form! Double shiaks. Was stuck there for more than an hour ok!

So while I was stuck in the jam, I drank from my water tumbler and thought the water tasted funny. I was very sure that the water was ok since I was the one who cleaned the tumbler and filled the water. Cannot rely on maid as I don’t trust her anyway! But after drinking a few times I had to open up and check the water….and guess what I saw?

There was a sticker inside and some food crumbs! There was an Abbotts promotion at Ikano and we happened to be there the day before, so Kieran had this sticker stuck on his shirt. I really wonder how it ended up in my water tumbler lei! I remember there was always food crumbs in Kieran’s tumbler when he was younger….it was kinda gross but was ok la…not really that bad! So this is one of the hazards of having kids!
