More homework drama? & HK Part 7

June 29, 2007 · 22 Comments

Yes I think by now you guys should be fed up with my same ol title for the past few posts rite??? Sorry….

The backlog has been completed but the fresh new homework is still overbearing! It’s like as if the teacher is punishing me my son for his one week absence from school. But Amah beh kia si (not afraid), die die still want to go shopping yesterday! Weyo? Zara sale started la! Eh this is tradition ok, Amah must go to Zara sale on the first day one! Weyo? Don’t ask me…blechhh…Asked him to do some homework while I shopped but he chose to run around, and without his shoes as well!!! ARGGHHHHHHHHH…

Anyway, back to my HK trip..

Ok today talk about the warehouses. I have a list of warehouses but I only go this particular one.

Space Warehouse

Stocks off season Prada and Miu Miu stuff, really worth going if you are a Prada fan.

How to get there? I think most buses from any part of Hong Kong goes there. If you are staying in Kowloon, just get off Central MRT station/Central BusStation and switch to any bus that goes to AP LEI CHAU/SOUTH HORIZONS (Cantonese is called Hoi Yi Pun Doe). There are quite a few buses that go there so I can’t remember all the numbers. Very easy one, cos the bus route plans detail the stops. Ask the bus driver to alert you where to stop. Space warehouse is just next to the market which is next to the shopping centre in South Horizons. Make sure you go with an empty bladder as the closest toilet is in the shopping centre which is about 5 minutes walk away! I always end up like screwed up cos I spent too long a time there and this time I had Kieran tagging along somemore! Went to the one in the market but it was locked! Ayo..die die oso had to run to the one at the shopping centre! You have to walk up a flight of stairs to reach the shop, just look out for the signboard la…it’s a grey building if I’m not mistaken…

Next is the building which houses a wide range of outlets. It’s about 10-15 walk from Space. Errr..sorry don’t have the address with me now…whoever wants to go contact me la! Can take a bus in if you like but not worth paying la…hahaha…it’s bus no.99 & 671 (i think..hehehe but the 99 I’m very sure, cos Kieran also remembers that!). This place houses from Ferrari cars to Kids Books…but of course I went for Lane Crawford and Joyce outlets la…actually hor the Joyce outlet has become quite crappy so don’t bother if you are running out of time. If you are a fan of Max Mara, there is an outlet there too. Apparently Moschino has an outlet there too but I missed that out..blechhhh…

That’s Kieran outside the Ferrari showroom…

Sorry no time to load pictures of my purchases..later la…

Kieran’s Homework Drama + HK Part 6

June 27, 2007 · 33 Comments

The drama continues….the teacher called again..(the conversation of course was in Mandarin but I have translated below…)

T-You know Kieran didn’t complete his homework..

Me-Yes yes, but there’s just too much, we are working on them..In fact we were doing it until 11 pm last night!

T-But he still has so much he hasn’t completed…

Me-Actually we already have difficulty completing the daily homework as it is and now we have a backlog of 5 days plus holiday homework..Give us some more time..

T-I know but he has to hurry up as the exam is coming in July and there’s so much to catch up..

Really I don’t give a damn about the exam la. Don’t finish the homework is like so terrible liddat…gimme a break la!!!!

Me-I really think the amount of homework you give is just way too much for such a young child to handle..

T-I know, I too pity them but we have no choice, all the classes are doing the same amount..

Now u r trying to say that my son is soooo dumbo and can’t catch up like the rest is it????

Me-Madam, we really are trying our very best. Please give us till end of this week.

T-I told him to do some of his work in class today but he ran away and disappeared..

Me-How can he run away and disappear??

Like how can you as a teacher allow that to happen? Now you too can’t even control him! How good of a teacher are you?? WTF! Bluekkkkkkkkkkk!

T-There is a time like story telling so he ran away for that purpose..

Ayooo…if I’m a kid I also will run away and go for story telling anytime versus doing boring ol homework la!

I don’t know la, I really didn’t want to continue the conversation and she kept repeating the same old thing and I began to sound disinterested and she sort of got the picture and let me off! I don’t know if it was becos of the phone call, I was extra hard on Kieran last night. I lost my patience and started screaming at him lor…I know I shouldn’t have but I really couldn’t help it. Apah was so clever, left early and went home while I waited with him to do the homework. We are doing the homework at Apoh’s place as my future sister in law (Aunty Fiona) can help with the Chinese part. When I stared at the Chinese characters which I didn’t understand I felt so helpless and stupid and then in turn really got me worked up. Poor Aunty Fiona was already very tired from work as she came back quite late and had dinner so late. However, she was really concerned and came to help immediately after she finished eating. She was so dedicated and patient and insisted we finished up but it was already 11.30 p.m.! I told her his mind was long gone ledi, but she insisted to finish up at least one more page! So by the time we packed up it was past midnight!!!

hw.jpghw1.jpghw2.jpg

That was me doing the colouring part for him and aunty Fiona guiding him

Then as we were ready to go I realised Apah again didn’t hear what I told him. I already told him so many times that should he leave first he should take my car instead as all the laundry and other stuff were in my car. At least the maid can clear that when they reach home first. I was so freaking mad with him!!!! I was so tired with Kieran and then that! I also noticed that Kieran brought back his sandwich untouched and guess what was the reason??? The same old story again, he took money from his friend to buy sweets and chocolates. There I made him descent food and he rather not have it and prefer to take money from his friends again. Am I such a monster for being so protective over my son’s well being? The reason he still has all his milk teeth all proper and healthy till today (except for bottom front teeth, even those fell out naturally and the new ones grew back very fast) was the fact that I never introduced him Ribena or any other sweet drinks and also strictly no sweets. The only time he can enjoy sweets are from birthday parties and his piano classes. So I’ve not totally controlled him right??? I don’t know…. :(

Anyways…back to happier things like the continuing account of my trip…

More goods from my looting shopping..

goods3.jpgicemold.jpg

goods7.jpggoods6.jpg

Amah mad ledi, tissue and wet tissue also buy from HK! What la, the disney packing was irresistable and of course the girly packing of the Kleenex has some lovely fragrance one leh! The top left hand pic is a soup pitcher (pour soup in and oil will float rite? So when u pour the oil remains on the top and you get less oil soup!!), middle one is a bag of hair accessories for Kylie which I got from Disney Shop in the airport (why cos Apah didn’t get her anything from Disneyland!!), various biscuit and jelly moulds in Hello Kitty and Disney characters and some prepacked soup ingredients.

The highlight of the household goods I got was this pooh bear cake mould which comes with the stencil to mark his eyes, nose etc…

pooh.jpg

Ok ok..that’s not what some of you want to see right..okok my new bag…yes I bought yet another Prada bag from the warehouse…of course at a very good discount, I think at least 50-60% off..

HK Part 5

June 25, 2007 · 21 Comments

Back to reality, Kieran has got tonnes of homework to catch up with. We have already tried drilling him to work on it but his pace is just too slow. He already has a lot of homework daily, so how is he going to catch up on 5 days of homework in one week leh? The teachers also kinda unreasonable la. Doesn’t know how to talk to him and explain to him to just hand in whatever he has done. My boy is so afraid, he didn’t hand in any work and just said haven’t done!

The teacher called me and told me they had this conversation:

T-Kieran why you didn’t hand in your homework?

K- I didn’t do..

T-What about the weekend? Didn’t you do any?

K-My mummy brought me kai kai the whole day so I didn’t have time to do!

I was like, warao eh! Of course I didn’t bring him out the whole weekend la! Crazy ka? Saturday morning was his music lesson, so after lunch he had like about 3 hours to do his homework. How can the kid spend the whole day to do homework when he can’t even fully concentrate in that 3 hours? Unreasonable la…Then on Sunday, again we made him to do his work for 2 - 3 hours, as we went to out to church and of course some shopping la..How can I like stay at home and don’t go anywhere one?

Another teacher conversation with Kieran (this one was during the beginning of last week:

T-Kieran, why you didn’t hand in your homework?

K-I didn’t do my homework

T-Why?

K-I went to HK Disneyland!

T-???

She actually pinched his cheek after hearing what he said!!! WTF! I’m ok with the cane on the hand or legs but pinch the cheek? Ayo, I also don’t want to complain to the teacher as I am sure she will ask why on earth did we bring him to a holiday trip during school week!

How la? During the short 2 - 3 hours session with him yesterday nearly sent me banging on the wall la…HOW is he going to finish all his homework ah??? Cos I need time to check some chinese characters and do you know how difficult it is searching for individual characters in the microscopic dictionary???

Anyway back to my backlog of the trip! Doing homework as well!

I always dream of meeting actors/actresses when I’m there. The last trip in 2003 I saw Rosamand Kwan, Lam Mun Loong and Ada Choi but of course didn’t get to take pictures with them lor! :( My last trip in Dec 06, lagi teruk, didn’t even see a keh leh feh (extras in movies/tv)! This trip was better, before I reached HK already met Fung Po Po (eventhough like so old mia actress…) and then I met this guy too. I have no idea what his name is but I managed to take a photo with him la! Saw another 2 actresses also but they went off so didn’t take photos with them.

actor.jpg

I only know he acted in this old movie with Sammi Cheng and Andy Lau and he played the supporting role! hahahaha….but then hor, he is also quite good looking lor…see la Amah’s mia happy face!

More food, this time Shanghainese Food, located in World Trade Centre, Causeway Bay. There are heaps of restaurants there. Dinner there was compliments of a friend who’s working in HK.

food.jpgfood1.jpg

Had siu loong pau (Little Dragon dumplings-I reckon the ones in SOHO at One Utama can bertanding la..) and I was forced coaxed to try the Chow Tau Fu (fermented beancurd). It was really smelly ok! I remember the ones they fry in Mong Kok on the streets were like so smelly, it can send you running very fast one. This one was considered ok since we didn’t smell the frying process!! Anyway, we couldn’t really take our own sweet time to enjoy the food and company as my friend was so worried the waiter will chase us out as they only booked the place for 1.5hours! Seow!

At another time, we had this dessert which has the lor mai chi skin and mango as filling! Wah mega yummy lor. As usual, we had to queue for the place to eat at this dessert shop.

Hong Kong Part 4-More Food and Shopping

June 22, 2007 · 15 Comments

After shopping one whole day Kieran began to whine and complain and he insisted on a ride in the double decker bus. The first time he spotted the bus he actually screamed out loud, “Look mum! That’s a double decker bus! They have double decker bus here in Hong Kong!!!” Ayo so embarassing! So he was bugging me to bring him on the bus but I was with “Ku Cheh” and she’s the type who takes only taxi one leh…ayo…so Ku Cheh told him it was going to rain very heavily so cannot take bus…bla bla bla..but he didn’t give up kept bugging us cos it was not raining that heavily and in fact it was like slight drizzle here and there only! So we gave up and took him on the ride! See how happy he was!

doubledeck.jpg

Then we dumped all our shopping in the hotel and went for the buffet dinner downstairs. As it was a popular place, walk in customers usually are not entertained but since I was a hotel guest, we were given a table! When I saw the buffet spread I nearly fainted! The food was like sooooooooo amazing and it was definitely one buffet spread which was gonna cost a bomb but I wasn’t sure how much. Even our little friend enjoyed so much, but of course the dessert part only la! He was playing with the prawn heads and was creating a mess..so embarassing again!

 buffet1.jpgbuffet2.jpgbuffet4.jpg

I ate so much till I nearly collapsed on the table! Seriously, towards the end of the trip my tummy bulge was like when I was 5 months pregnant! Thank God now hilang-ded ledi!!! hahahaha…I think it was gas! When “Ku Cheh” paid for the bill I nearly fainted cos the bill did indeed cost a BOMB! Thanks so much my lovely “Ku Cheh”…to payback for her kindnes, my next trip I have to bring her 10 packs each of nasi lemak & char kuey teow!

Hong Kong Part 3- Audio Porn + more Shopping

June 21, 2007 · 24 Comments

Forgot to mention I witnessed (not visual but audio) a drama on the first night at the hotel room. We had a room which has an adjoining door to the room next to us. So I guess the sound coming out from the next room is like kinda easy to cross over. Well it was just past midnight and I was stirred from my deep sleep by this high pitch sound from a woman…”ahh..ahhh…..ahhh….ahhh…ahhh ahhh….” and then grunting sound from her partner la! So can you boys and girls guess what they were doing ah???? Ayo, all my life I have not come across a woman who makes such a sound while at it ok! So darn fake. Then I tried to get back to sleep after the sound subsided and suddenly I heard a wailing sound from that screeching woman. She was sobbing and I could hear muffled sounds from the guy whom I guess was trying to console her. I was so fed up ok, so I woke Apah up! Then before Apah could make out what’s happening next door, I dozed off again.

The next morning I asked Apah what happened after I fell asleep, and he said the couple went on a second round after the argument. I checked with Apah on the sound effects from the woman and it was the same! So darn sickening!

I told “Ku cheh” about it and she asked why I didn’t record it down for her to hear also! Ayo…didn’t think of it at that time cos so sleepy leh! But thank God it was only one night!!!

Shopping

I used to say I will not buy Crocs cos they were overpriced plastic shoes made in China but when I saw this pair, I just couldn’t resist getting for Kieran and he liked them too! It was the Pirates of the Carribean limited edition pair so buy la! Besides it was raining….so I bought a pair for myself too but the slipper version of course! Turned out not that comfortable for me but Kieran loved his crocs!

 crocs.jpgshoes5.jpg

Then my shoe buying went on & on & on…

 shoes21.jpgshoes1.jpgkors.jpg

Left picture : 3 pairs from Pedder Red, having sale and I had an additional 10% off as Ku Cheh was a member…(in HK all the retail outlets offer membership card which offers 10% discount on all products inclusive of sale items!)

Middle picture : Left pair, a Beverly Feldman only RM50! and right pair, a Giuseppe Zanotti at RM200 only!!!!! (From Lane Crawford Outlet Store at Ap Lei Chau)

Right picture : Michael Kors for both pairs at RM100 each!! Major good deal or not?? (Also from Lane Crawford Outlet Store at Ap Lei Chau)

Finally before we left the hotel on the last day, Amah die die also wanna go shop and bought this pair! My first Birkenstock, again got 5% off when paid with certain Visa card, so Apah has that card, asked Apah to pay la…but of course I have to pay back la! Blechhhhh!

HK Part 2

June 19, 2007 · 16 Comments

First shopping spot was at the World Trade Centre next to our hotel. Got some clothes for the kids from Esprit since there were a few on 50% off. With my Esprit member card here, I could get an additional 10% off wor! Wah not bad wai…

Then I saw Itamae sushi outlet which I tried in my last trip. There wasn’t a queue yet so I continued my shopping till Kieran began to complain that he’s hungry. So we went back to Itamae and there’s already a small queue out there. It’s only about 6 p.m. ok! Managed to get in after like 5 people ahead of us. Kieran enjoyed the food and ate so fast! I was so shocked! He never eat like this before.

itamae1.jpg

The Next day

We decided to go to Tai Koo Shing to shop as we were going to meet “ku cheh” there for lunch. Who’s ku cheh? She’s a good friend of my cousin and she’s the one I stayed with the last trip. Why she’s become “ku cheh”? She brought us shopping for “hoi mei” and introduced me & Piggy as her nieces from Malaysia so we could enjoy discounts la…She’s complaining that I wasn’t able to massage her this time round as I wasn’t staying with her! She was already talking about my next trip!!

Anyway, was shopping in Marks & Spencer and told Kieran to just sit at on the chair at the shoes section to wait for me. When I was ready to pay for my stuff I turned to check on him and realised he was not there! Circled the whole floor and couldn’t see him! Started to panic and asked around. Suddenly he came down the escalator! Phew! He was waiting so long he began to get worried so he went looking for me. All M & S outlets in HK have at least 2 floors! See he’s that bored, he was standing posing next to a manequin.

boypose.jpg

Then we went for yum cha (dim sum). “Ku cheh” ordered a birds nest mango pudding for Kieran but after the 1st spoonful in his mouth, he spit it out! Ayo! So embarassing! Good thing he didn’t scoop the birds nest, so I ate it on his behalf la!! muahahahahhaha…

mangopud.jpg

The birds nest can’t be seen in this photo, but the pudding was really yummmieeee…..Anyway, got to go out now…so can’t complete this day’s update..more to come!

I’m BACK! Hong Kong June07-Part 1

June 18, 2007 · 24 Comments

Before we boarded our flight Apah ledi pissed me off cos after we went in the boarding area I suddenly had the urge to wee la! When someone needs to go means got to go la…but that Apah asked me stupid question why I must go as we have priviledge boarding bla bla bla…but I HAD TO GO LA! So I went out and upon going through the scanner I saw somebody familiar. She was the veteran actress Fung Po Po! So I asked her to take photo with Amah la! See good thing I went out to the loo if not cannot see her lor…hahahaha

popo.jpg

The flight as usual delayed….Mana Ada System mia pasal. In fact I found the service quite bad and no wonder the flight was quite empty. However, my little friend was so excited and really enjoyed himself. He gobbled down the food like he has never eaten before.

boyeatplane.jpgboyrelax.jpg

We were greeted by a pretty young lady upon arrival as Apah booked a limo eh hem…at his company’s expense of course as he had to rush to a meeting. I was kinda impressed with their service and it was a S class that picked us up.

limo.jpg

The hotel we stayed was located at a very strategic place at Causeway Bay. So shopping started the moment we arrived!!! More to come….

It’s Angie’s Birthday

June 15, 2007 · 21 Comments

It’s my very reliable side kick’s birthday today and I would like to take this opportunity to wish her many happy returns and also apologise that I am not around to bake her a birthday cake! Will bake you one when I come back ok?? I feel so bad for abandoning her and going away for so long…as usual, when I go away from work, I usually bribe get her some pressies…hehehehehehe…

Going away will not stop me from blogging and answering to your comments cos I miss you guys ma….kakakakaka

Anyway, it’s been raining everyday since the day I arrived in Hong Kong, sad gloomy skies each morning greets me from the window but that doesn’t dampen Amah mia shopping mood as I still shopped away like nobody’s business and of course I have an alarm who keeps reminding me not to buy so much and bugging me to bring him back to the hotel. This alarm is also very annoying as he will come to me and say he wants to go to the toilet when I’m like engrossed choosing my stuff! Potong steam! (disrupting like mad). Nevertheless I already bought 7 pairs of shoes, a few tops and of course a bag…and like a load of kids clothes! Pictures only when I return….

The rain also doesn’t stop Amah from getting her daily dose of cocktail bun (kai mei pau, bread with coconut cream filling) and also char leong (chee cheong fun wrapped around freshly fried char kuey). I’m so going to go on a fasting diet when I return as the amount I’ve been eating is just too much! But I realy can’t help it as the food is soooooo yummmmmieeee…

And thanks to my “ku cheh” (a close friend) I have been introduced to this shop which sells really beautiful children’s clothing which carries the size from 0 months to 16years old. And guess what? Some of the 16 year old size can fit me lor! My dear ku cheh is already a grandma but she’s a regular customer there, no not buying clothes for her grandson but herself!!! Will post a picture of the blouse I bought later..hahahaha..

Everybody cough cough..

June 9, 2007 · 35 Comments

It started with the karaoke, then shopping then fever….then throat pain pain…still stubborn, don’t see doctor until passed the bug to Kylie baru see doctor…sorry darling..piak piak mummy…

You have fever but still wanna run around the garden and shift the sand from the sand pit into the living room!

Last nite, you started coughing and then suddenly threw up on the bed! OMG! Daddy was not around to clean up as we were sleeping at Apoh’s place, so mummy got to clean up but thank God Apoh woke up to clean you up.

This morning mummy checked on you and you have fever again. So mummy try to cool you down with the wet towel but you keep refusing it. Then mummy take picture of you and you said a loud “STOP”.

And then when mummy sang you your favourite song, you still participated! Look at the video I took with my phone a few days back.

And kor kor was sleeping away throughout the drama and the following pictures of him sleeping through his homework & dinner!

Asked him to do homework and just minutes into it, this happened!

Asked you to eat your dinner and you turned out like this while we were still chatting away on the table. The maid asked where were you and suddenly you were sound asleep on the chair!
