My new “office helper”

October 29, 2008 · 27 Comments

Before I talk about my new office helper, I would like to thank Oliveolyz for the Butterfly Award.

It’s been some time since I’ve received awards..but I am not going to pass this on as I’m too lazy….zzzZZZ besides, I think most of the blogs on my blogroll have already received this award…

Anyways…back to my office helper…

I have been bringing lil monster princess to the office lately. She will sometimes very enthusiastically want to torture help me, e.g. quickly running to the copier to collect my printing for me..

We sometimes have missing stationery and keys as she plays with them and then hides them under the tables! She will disturb my other staff and can be quite annoying. She hangs on to their feet and doesn’t allow them to walk away!

She will also immitate us by picking up the phone and pretend to talk and take orders/messages with pen & paper..(I couldn’t snap the photo on time as she stopped the act when she realised I was about to snap her pic!)

However, she has a tendency to sleep on the job…

Evening beside the lake..

October 27, 2008 · 23 Comments

A couple of weeks ago, my dear friend came from Sabah and was staying with her brother who happens to live quite close to us. I made donuts and called them to make them my guinea pigs share with them. We met at the park beside the lake. They were feeding the fish and tortoise in the lake when we arrived. Kieran and Kylie were really excited too as they love feeding the fish. They brought along the leftover fish food and of course the donuts for our friends..

My mini donuts…first attempt…turned out quite ok but I found it a tad too hard..

My friend fed her son with one hand first….

and she was carelessly holding the container in the other hand…and then…

Bagan Lalang..backdated..

October 23, 2008 · 14 Comments

Thanks to the recommendation from this mummy, we managed to find this beach at Bagan Lalang. We went during the National Day holiday…yeah that long ago…The beach was fairly clean, only drawback is the mouth of the river is nearby so the water can be quite dirty.

The kids were so excited and happy to see the beach, this goes to show that we should bring them to such places more than shopping centres!

Yeah!! We are at the beach!!

Yook(look) kor kor…look….(I have no idea at what??)

Daddy so free nothing to do, wrote Kieran’s full name…

We hung around till noon and the sun was getting too hot..so we washed up with the water we brought along and then filled the containers with sand..(to fill our sand pit…ngek ngek ngek..) My mega tupperware collection came into handy at such times…

We stopped over at Tanjung Sepat for lunch at this restaurant called the Lovers Bridge Restaurant. Why Lovers Bridge? There is a jetty close by which is named Lovers Bridge.

We ordered crabs, steam whole fish and various dishes and it took them over an hour to prepare! The restaurant was kinda packed and I was worried the standard will deteriorate but it didn’t and was really good & tasty! All in below RM100! However, Kieran got pretty mad due to the long wait as he was really hungry..

Lovers Bridge in the background…

Look Mom…there’s a giant lizard over there…(no zoom lens so cannot take pic of that lizard)

See the dual tones on Kieran’s arms..

Yummy yummy crabs…I’ve not seen Kieran eat so fast before…hahahahhaa….

Raya Outing 2

October 20, 2008 · 13 Comments

The raya outing did not stop at Ipoh. Apoh wanted to take the kids (including my brother’s daughter) out on the monorail in KL. When Apah heard of this, he didn’t feel at peace to let the kids go with Apoh, not that he doesn’t trust Apoh, it’s just that he knew his kids well and they can be too much to handle for Apoh. So he volunteered to go with with them too. Upon hearing that I quickly suggested to take the LRT instead to KLCC as the monorail stations are not located at convenient locations. Since it’s going to be KLCC, I went also la! ngek ngek ngek…

We drove to the LRT station, parked the car there and off we went. While waiting for the train the kids were all excited and happy..so was APoh..

I like this photo below of the cousins…

Kylie was a menace, wanted to climb up and look out of the train window..and she was making friends with people around her..

Upon reaching KLCC, the kids were running out and Kylie wanted to join the older kids but we didn’t allow of course. We had to strap her to the stroller and see what happened?

I wanna foyow (follow) kor kor..I wanna foyow kor kor…

Lunch was crappy and I couldn’t buy many things as the kids took turns to go to the toilet and Apah kept reminding me we were taking the train and asked me not to buy anything..bla bla bla…

2 bad dreams on the same night, actually morning…

October 16, 2008 · 24 Comments

I can’t believe this…I’m wondering if this is due to the previous night incident..anyway..we ate in this not-so-good restaurant yesterday that made me so thirsty till now..I have to write this down before I forget.

I woke up mid sleep from my first wet bad dream…

I missed my flight to Cambodia! I’m so curious why Cambodia as I’m actually scheduled to go somewhere else next week.. And the worse part is I was in the car with Apoh and me and big mouth screamed out..”Oh no! I missed my flight, I forgot it was today..” And guess what was Apoh’s reaction?? Of course faster than the speed of M16, bang bang bang…non stop saying how useless I am bla bla bla..so important can forget..bla bla bla…Then I made some phone calls to try to get another flight as I couldn’t use the ticket of course, weyo? It’s AirAsia la! Then of course I WOKE UP! Was so freaked out and also thirsty and started perspiring too. Went to get a drink and turned the aircon on again and went back to sleep.

Next I thing I knew…the dream continued! Shiats!

This time all of a sudden there’s this guy who used to work for me in the laundry shop (I used to have one and due to him, I decided to close it down!!) was in the dream! Freaky..he was supposed to go to this Cambodia trip too, same goes for Apah & the kids! So we managed to get another ticket the next day. Somehow, that guy was in another location and we had to go back to pack so we thought we would pick him up after we packed to go to the airport.

While we were at home, we were dilly dallying as usual, rather it was me..and before we realised it, we were late again! Then I decided we go first and make a call to that guy to tell him to go on his own but I don’t know why suddenly there was another twist here! All of a sudden he was in my house pulak! (really no connection…cis!)

We were like walking up n down in the airport, frantic but thank goodness there was a slight delay. Then I asked Apah to call that guy and ask him to drive Apah’s car here instead. Somehow he didn’t pick up the phone so Apah went back to get him. During that time, don’t know what possessed me to leave the bags including my LV Naviglio handbag with all my money, camera, passport  bla bla was inside, with Kieran.

While I was standing there looking at Apah go off, suddenly Kieran came running to me. I am sure Kylie was with him too but I couldn’t see her face clearly in the dream.

K – Mom!

Me – Kieran!! (screaming at the top of my lungs!) What are you doing here???

K – I wanted to see where u are…

Me – WHERE ARE THE BAGS??? (I thundered…)

K – It’s over there…(pointing to the direction..)

We or rather I ran like a maniac towards that place, and saw our bags still there but of course my LV IS GONE!!! ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! There were stuff scattered everywhere. The thief threw out my DSLR (obviously didn’t appreciate photography) and some other stuff all over the place. I broke down crying. Strangely my phone was with me and I called Apah telling him to forget everything, as our passports are gone…we can’t go..I couldn’t believe why that stupid thief took our passports and not the DSLR…BUT….it’s only a dream but I was thinking out loud in the dream ma…got to write down everything rite??

I was sobbing uncontrollably which is so NOT me…and that’s why at that point I woke up and was darn thirsty!!

Raya Break

October 10, 2008 · 17 Comments

What to do on Raya holiday when you don’t have any open houses to go to? Find your own open house lor…where? Ipoh la! Yes we decided on a last minute escapade day trip to Ipoh, the land of the “bestest” food ever, besides Penang of course..

Dressed up the kids to suit the occasion…Raya clothes of course..

My “Aminah” & “Abdullah”

Packed the car up, my younger bro & wife, cousin Yong & hubby, mom plus us. All in my faithful MPV!

Thinking traffic will not be heavy on the highway but we were wrong…many ppl going up north..

The rest areas were jam packed but we had no choice but to stop at the Tapah rest area as we really had to pee! Kylie was a good girl and managed to hold till the rest area. She refused to wear the diaper. I was afraid that she will refuse the public toilet as she has before. Thank goodness the Tapah rest area toilets are quite clean.

First stop in Ipoh is of course Ipoh Old Town, “Tin Chun” coffee shop. The absolutely mouth watering caramel custard was sold out and it was crowded like mad! We had to wait for quite some time and even that we had to split into 2 tables. The hor fun was as usual very good…the taugeh is soo yummy…and of course the chee cheong fun! (yet to discover the mysterious Canning Garden CCF that Albie mentioned).

Next stop was Funny Mountain so-slippery-tau foo fah…sllurrrppsss…drive in style of course…

After that we went to get the “Heong Peang” (Ipoh famous biscuits) factory as the biscuit is more fresh & crispy. Our cousin came to meet us and guided us to their house not too far away. Chilled there for a while and kids started wanting to do “big business” and we decided to shower the kids there. They had a fun time as we used the bucket water system..scoop and pour! They screamed in delight!! Something we city folks are deprived of..Another cousin dropped by and brought us the sticky gluey cakes in peanut and peanut sweet soup. So yummy can die….

We had to adjourn to visit another old friend and bid farewell to our cousins. Chilled there for a while and it was time for dinner. We made bookings at this restaurant called “Mun Choong” and the English name turned out to be Pusing Public Restaurant! What a funny name, it doesn’t mean spin the public but Pusing is actually the name of the town where this restaurant originated from.

We actually made a booking for the fresh water big headed prawns and the famous suckling pig. Again..so yummy can die lor…

The body fried in some dark sause

The head was steamed with Chinese wine

Roasted suckling pig…

Sinful leh…we had more dishes but I didn’t take all the pics as I was busy eating!! yummmmm….

Bento No.2

October 7, 2008 · 24 Comments

My second attempt which didn’t receive very good reviews from the recipient..

K – Mom!!! Stop it!

Me – What??

K – Don’t put the mayonaise…ewwwwwwwwwww…

I can’t believe this as he LOVES mayonaise!!

Me – What’s wrong I thought you liked mayonaise..

K – NO I don’t! Stop decorating ok!!

What happened to the bits & pieces from the cut outs? My little princess helped me gobbled them up! So do I need to decorate bentos for her or not? Ok ok I’m not so bias..I did…

At least Kylie appreciated my hard work and finished eating every single bit on this plate..

And another time I tried making the sausage curve but this sausage with the cheese filling is kinda difficult to manage and it ended up potong-ded! (broken).

Fingers shivering n the cat ended up with blotched eyes!!
