Warning-major long post-Insurance Claim

May 7, 2007 · 17 Comments

Sorry folks, been so busy. Ok, here’s my promised post on the insurance claim procedure..

This procedure applies when you need to claim 3rd Party insurance

Since my mom’s car is still under warranty we felt we should send it back to Toyota for the repairs, besides we are claiming 3rd party insurance, let them pay la!

The moment I reached Toyota (body repair available at Sec19 brance besides the one at Padang Jawa), saw my friend and he claimed that their service is very good…then when it was our turn, nightmare started (not Toyota’s fault la) Since I didn’t know what to do, we only brought our police report but it’s not enough of course! Other documents needed:

  1. 3rd Party Police Report (Original)
  2. Sketch Plan of the accident (Original)
  3. Police  Investigation Letter (Original)
  4. JPJ Search for 3rd Party insurance particular (Original)
  5. Police Report (Original)
  6. Registration card both side (Copy)
  7. Polic/cover note (Copy)
  8. Claim form (insurance claim form)
  9. Insured IC & License (Copy)
  10. Driver’s IC & License (Copy)

(Item 1 - 3 to get from police station. The time when my mom made the police report, the police should have advised that those documents were needed but of course they didn’t la! What to do, mom got to go la!)

So no choice, mom got to go back to the police station while I go back to arrange for the other documents. We called the 3rd party to try to get his insurance particulars but he was not cooperative of course! So what to do, got to go to JPJ. Since it’s not to far from where I live, so I went the next day. The queue was long, waited almost one hour and when it was my turn, they needed my mom’s IC copy instead of mine (cos person that made the report was my mom..duhhhh!) Double & triple blecccchhhhhhhhhhh! SEI MOH??? Got to rush back la! But it was Friday so the lunch break in that fantastic department was extra long and I had a delivery & training at Kajang in the afternoon lei!

So upon reaching office, called the customer and asked if it was ok for me to go then so I can still go back to JPJ after 2.45pm. Thank God the customer obliged so I zoomed to the customer’s place and thank goodness the training was smooth and customer was not the long winded type!

Then zoomed back to pick my mom up just in case they want the original as well…but we don’t have a copy so got to make a copy at JPJ (very expensive photocopying!).

How to do a search on 3rd party insurance details

Get form from Information Counter

Get queue number  & then only fill in the form cos the queue is so dem long one..

Once they called our number, we had a slight problem as there were 3 cars involved. We wanted to take the other 2 person’s info although the Toyota guy advised that we need to take only the car which hit the car behind my mom which then hit my mom’s car. Unfortunately when my mom made the police report she forgot to put in the detail of the 3rd car and only mentioned the car behind her! So careless but again, since she’s a senior citizen, shouldn’t the police be the one who should advise her?? In fact the report was prepared by the police and they left that so important information out! So the JPJ guy also gave us a hard time as he really was clearly overworked and didn’t have the patience to hear us out.

Me- so macam mana?

JPJ-jumpa officer!

Me-Mana?

totally ignoreed me and called for the next number!

Me-?????  WTF!

We moved to the cubicle which I guessed was the place we wait to see the officer but that guy didn’t call for one lei! Otoke??? Then I walked back to the number counter to ask and she told next door. There was indeed an officer there and she was attending to someone so I gestured for mom to go there while I continued to wait for the application for one car first.

Then it turned out the officer which my mom was waiting was not the one in charged of such cases! Double shiaks! Thanks to a kind samaritan (those runners there la) he called out the phantom officer (neh the empty booth just now). Then the officer was very patient or probably got too confused and didn’t want to complicate things further, went on to process the information for us and it was faster than the one which I was waiting for! Triple shiaks!

So make sure you guys know the facts before going to gaomen departments ok!!

Beware of Potholes & Raised up Manholes

January 16, 2007 · 11 Comments

We were doing gardening last Saturday morning and suddenly we heard a loud bang. Apah thought it was like a major accident but I thought how could this happen within the residential roads…

It was an Alfa Romeo which ran over a manhole which was actually protruding out from the road (most of the manholes are like that around my neighbourhood) and it hit the gear box or something. Whatever it is, it was a loud bang and the oil was leaking all over and both his airbags were released. When Apah went over to check on the guy, he was bleeding from his nose and looked really shocked and dazed. Who wouldn’t after an accident like this! Apah made sure he could call for help and was ok then walked back la.

Wah, very dangerous la liddis…next time must drive more carefully and try to avoid the manholes. I remembered a friend was driving a Camry and ran over a pothole and the rim of one of the car tyre bended and had to be replaced! That’s why must slow down and avoid such holes la! During such incidents, the driver may get shocked and the car could have diverted and hit another car leh!

Try reporting to local councils of such potholes and you can vomit blood one…but I used to have an ex-colleague who’s so persistent, she calls the council everyday without fail until the repair is done! But then again…who’s so free like her??

Fruitful Holiday

October 24, 2006 · 10 Comments

Yay! I finally completed yet another Korean Drama Series, yes I’m kinda behind, it’s an old one titled Winter Sonata, starring the “lar pek” (girlish, ok I hope not many fans of him come after me!) Bae Yong Jun aka Aunty “Sat Sau” (majority fans are aunties!) and the famous Choi Ji Woo. Frankly I don’t know how this actress is like one of the top Korean actress cos I really cannot tahan (stand) her lor cos her roles are mainly sobby and has a cham (pathetic) face. Found this drama kinda draggy but the soundtrack of songs really chun (good) leh! In fact I’m learning to play a few of the songs from the soundtrack on the piano…wish me all the best!!

Other than that, I still managed to cook chicken rice for lunch, and pack it for LaundryApah who went to the new house to assemble all the Ikea stuff I bought over 3 - 4 Ikea sales..I think!

Apah-Eh what is dat ah? (pointing to one of the Ikea furniture)

Amah-Huh? Dat one? ya hor..wat is dat ah? I oso dunno wor.. (sei/die lor, bought it so many moons ago I can’t remember I even bought it and I have no freaking idea what it is for summore!)

Then we tried to get Kylie to sleep but she’s just too excited in a new environment (yeah we hardly go back) and she kept running up and down on the platform in the masterbedroom. I guess she was fascinated with the sound of her footsteps. Then I went to check on Apah and horrors of horrors he was assembling the Ikea chair! I screamed!!!!!!

Amah-Why you assemble this? Ayo!! Look! Your handprints all over the white cloth!!!!!!

Apah-You ask me to assemble all the furniture ma…how I know? (apah’s favourite statement..how I know?) And my hands are dirty from the work I’ve been doing ma!

Amah-Ayo..you assemble the others ma, the ones that are not vulnerable to dirt, look what you’ve done? Now the thing dirty and you still continue! So bodoh one!

Apah-Eh..this work is not easy la, look at my fingers, all sore! This is hardwork ok!

Amah-Hardwork and you do this! I dun care, take it out! Now got to wash it!

Apah-No need la, later will cover with the outer cushion cannot see one..

Amah-Eh since most parts of your body will be covered by your clothes, don’t wash them la!

Apah-Ok Ok Ok……(grumbling, complaining….)

Amah-???????? Chi sin!

Kieran was as usual trying to be helpful but turned out bothering daddy and daddy occasionally cried out, “Why you bring the kids??? Haiyerrrrrrrrrr…..” So we didn’t stay too long before daddy threw another fit…On the way out, Kieran was whining about something so I decided to stopover McDs drive-in to get him an ice cream. Wah his tears dried up instantly! When I wound down the window and started ordering, I realised I only had like RM4 in my wallet! HOrrers! Quickly apologised to the guy (so embarassing!) and zoomed out to ATM to tit tit tit…o-gain! Thank goodness the Atm was like a few doors away from that place!

Hubby Away Again

October 19, 2006 · 9 Comments

LaundryApah has been away a lot lately. So melecehkan lor (inconvenient)..cos he’s the one who usually put the kids to sleep and slaves around for me also! Muahahaha.. He was away on Sunday till Tuesday and he left again early this morning. He left so early that I didn’t even know he left! Really sleepy Amah! Thanks to my midnight blogging!

Tomorrow will be a mega long day for me as I have to do a delivery which LaundryApah usually helps me out with. Then I have to go to the Pan Global office to give them a piece of my mind since I couldn’t get through to their so-called Customer Service on the phone! I actually tried to go today but the traffic was so bad I had to turn back! So tomorrow here I come and they better solve my problem if not there will be a very angry Amah and somebody will kena gau gau chun chun (major slashing) from me….grrrrrrr…..

Ok got to go now as I have to practice with Kieran as he’s going to sing in the choir in his music school end of year concert. He’s going to sing 3 songs, Joy to the World, O Little Town of Bethlehem and Hark the Harald Angels Sing..sounds difficult leh…I shall try my best la!

Pan Global Does Not Rock lor

October 10, 2006 · 11 Comments

OK I’m still at the car issue and now I have cancelled the insurance for my old car and would like to find out how to transfer my NCD to the new insurance. We have actually been with this particular insurance company that has been serving us very well but because of my Alliance Bank Visa card, I have been introduced to Pan Gloabal Insurance (who call themselves Pan Global Rocks! Rock my foot!). I really hate the phone systems that these companies employ;

Thank you for calling bla bla bla, please press the extention number bla bla bla, for English please press 1, for customer service please press 1 bla bla bla….at the end of the day, all our customer service representatives are busy! Shiaks! Then I got connected to the operator and she transfered me to the same computer message! I called her again and insisted to talk to a human being and she transferred me to Complains department who in turn again transferred me to that same computer message again!!!!!!!!! Ayooooooooooo…so I had no choice but to leave my number as per their instructions. I thought that would be unreliable and they will never call me back..hajiman! The customer service consultant called me back like in 5 minutes while I was typing this! Cheh! Why can’t they just give me the NCD letter when I cancelled to avoid having to put me through this totally unnecessary stress leh???

Transfer Ownership

October 9, 2006 · 11 Comments

My dad has left us without writing a will and we had to get a High Court Letter of Administration (LA) to appoint the administrator for his assets. There were still two cars under his name and we couldn’t do anything with the cars because of that. We only managed to get the Court LA very late and then again we let it rest. First I took out the remaining few hundred RM he had in his bank and then only today I transfered the names of the vehicles. The car salesman has no idea how it’s done in JPJ so we just went with whatever documents we thought was suitable.

According to the car salesman, the rules change according to the officer’s mood and weather! Wah liddat oso can! True lor. When we went downstairs to validate the documents, that guy is supposed to validate the photocopy of any original documents e.g.Identification Card or the Court LA. but he only validated the IC and said it’s not necessary for the LA. When we went upstairs, the officer said must validate the LA! Well what to do? Go down again la! Then another surprise was the transfer cost me RM100.00 per car. I only had RM152.00 in my wallet leh! Thank God the salesman had RM50.00 to lend to me…if not got to go out to ATM! Memalukan! (so embarassing) The remaining RM2.00 was very important, weyo? Parking in there cost RM2.00 for 3 hours! Good thing all done within 3 hours!

Maniacs on the road

September 30, 2006 · 9 Comments

I was inspired to make this post after reading a post from Momsgather.

1.Drive to Malacca yesterday

I had to drive down to Malacca yesterday. It was a pleasant drive down despite the road works along NKVE and reached Malacca in about 2 hours+. However, the drive back was not as good as I left Malacca around 5 pm. As the time approaches 6 pm I noticed some crazy drivers speeding like mad. Weyo? Time to break fast la. Ayo, so gian to break fast dunwan life meh..I was overtaking also when there was this car that came so close my back, I really hate drivers liddat, so dangerous. Just give me a flash and I will know what to do wat! Well, she, yes a she and wearing tudung also, was tailing me so close but I didn’t bother about her cos I want to overtake the next few cars too! Dun tell me I have to slow down just to let her go and then speed up again meh! Ayooooooo…not long after that another guy who is also obviously rushing home to break fast was tailing me again.

2.Stop-Look-Go

Familiar with this line? Meaning, see a STOP sign, means, STOP the vehicle, LOOK out for cars and GO when it’s clear.

Ok, there is this weird juntion that leads to my mom’s place (pix on the left). There was a Pajero coming from the left on the top of the T and there was an Altis coming from the road perpendicular to the straight road. The Altis is supposed to have the right of way but the Pajero just drove straight without stopping despite Altis honking at him. Usually first time visitors are kinda excused for missing the stop sign due to the bushes and trees the council planted. But then hor, there is a straight white line across the road leh, how they pass undang-undang (traffic rules) ah? So the Altis was very angry, and when Pajero swerved one side to try to avoid road bump (that road bump ah cannot avoid one lor, sure one wheel have to go over the bump but I don’t know why some drivers still do that), Altis actually stopped the car, wound down the window and tried to reason with the Pajero! Wah, that Pajero guy was like so fierce, didn’t admit mistake obviously and started to curse using sign language! Shiaks man! Then the Pajero sped up and overtook the Altis despite one car coming from the opposite direction. The Pajero then stopped the car and waited! He was like looking for a fight liddat! Than Altis guy’s balls must have shrunk till like peanuts ok cos he didn’t take any action! I was telling hubby, if Pajero guy comes out to pick a fight, I will sure go down and help tumbuk him! Hubby said no need, just take pictures la..AIYA!!!! That reminded me…forgot to take pictures! Cheh!
3. Give way lane
This happened quite some time ago when I was driving my hubby’s car which was a faster car. I was going into a lane where I had to give way for ongoing traffic. So I naturally stopped to look out for cars la, me baca buku and know my undang-undang one wat! There was this bozo driving a BMW who didn’t notice I stopped so he had to brake till his tires botak leow! He then angrily over took me and showed me the finger! I was like what the hell?? So I made a sign back, scissors cutting the FINGER! (try and imagine how la!) Wah he got so mad that he stopped the car and got out summore! Wah this guy memang didn’t baca buku despite the fact he was descently dressed and had an elderly passenger in the car. I was like waiting for him to walk over so I could drive off leaving him standing there like an idiot but he didn’t as I think the lady in the car (could be the mother) asked him to get back in. It’s like what’s he thinking? His feet can be faster than my wheels ah?? Bozo! Then he was trying to be funny and turning his car from one lane to another not allowing me to overtake him! Then came a Storm whom I think saw what he was doing. The Storm kind of drove very slowly and then I managed to overtake him and I actually waved at him with the most triumphant grin on my face! Wah he was so mad and eventhough I couldn’t hear him, I was sure he was major cursing at me! Bluekkkkk!

How good a wife are you

September 27, 2006 · 13 Comments

Ok I cannot say I’m a good wife but I think I’m not a bad wife either. But yesterday I heard one very bizarre story of a certain woman who married a man as old as her father. Many would think sure the young wife will take very good care of the older husband but not this case lor.

Ok why leh? She doesn’t cook for the herself so of course doesn’t cook for the husband la. But then hor, when husband was sick, cincai la can cook just a pot of porridge ma..what’s so difficult? Ayo, she not only didn’t bother to cook but just left him a packet of instant noodles! Err..the noodles still intact in the packet…how to eat leh? Liddat oso can??

Section 17 Open Market

September 2, 2006 · 3 Comments

We send Kieran for his music group lessons on Saturday mornings and we have 2 hours to kill before we pick him up. So today we went to Section 17 to have breakfast and did some shopping there. Apparently the chicken is the cheapest there, especially the kampung (free-range) chickens. They have like one really long row of stalls after stalls just selling chickens! My mom purposely went all the way there to get the kampung chickens to cook for my confinement the last time.

We went round and round and couldn’t find a car park and was forced to park on the road shoulder near the houses. Then as I was approaching the market, I saw this, haiya..no wonder not enough parking la…

I noticed there were a few car parks occupied by motorbikes pulak! Why so inconsiderate one..irrrritating..
